i'm no photographer, but i'm surprised this is a winner... seems kinda saturated to me, not enough contrast in the background, or too dark... and there's a rider back there too, which takes away from the true race feel.. I'd have to guess it's a practice run

ha ha.. that shot of that knee/shin pad perfectly represents my opinion of every single knee/shin combo on the market that I have looked at or tried (numerous).. with all these high-end manufacturer's out there, you'd think one of them would figure it out.... POC might have with their new pads..

i guess they figure the flex isn't large enough to create a fatigue issue... interesting for carbon.. i'm sure they've done they're homework. Definately some techno-marketing babble about the triangulated rear end though... unless i'm missing something... but that NEVER happens!

hmm.. no pivot on the seat or chain stay... I guess they just flex through the travel?.. kinda like a softtail?

write-up says "fully triangulated" rear end... doesn't look that way to me...

not exactly.. they just won't warranty the iscg mounts.. the rest of the frame is still covered. http://www.santacruzmtb.com/v10/index.php?faq=1&ID=0176

the only way this photo could be more gay is if they were holding hands and the caption was "just married" Big Grin

are you sure about that??... I'm pretty sure Santa Cruz bought the VPP patent from Outland and now licenses the use to Intense. Of course, both SC and Intense continue to refine/tweak the design, but neither of them originated the VPP as far as I know.

the more I look the more I like. I like how so much of the weight (linkages and shock) is close to the BB and the mainframe and rear end look so clean and simple.

V10 had the VPP before Intense.. only by a year I think.. SC licenses it to Intense I believe.

actually, looking again.. i'd say it's 3 layers 1) rider 2) dirt/tree/roots 3) mountain background. I'd be shocked if that was an actual moment that occured and was captured.

that's what it looks like to me. right or wrong, it looksl like the tree/dirt/rider is one pic superimposed onto a panoramic mtn background. maybe it's just the exposure lighting that has been enhanced?.. either way, looks awesome, but not sure how manipulated it was... which may or may not matter to some.

such a gnarly hit.. what you don't see from this angle is that the landing drops into a hard right hander.. in the trees.. and the approach is totally blind.. just a ledge.. sweet shot!

it says FC-800, which means they are for 68 or 73mm BB Shells. The FC-805 is for 83mm BB shells. You can check it out on the Shimao website.

looks like an action shot for a cereal box or something... nice camera work, but too posed for me... i thought he was on aero bars before i opened it up to full size. I don't get the impression from the photo that he's sucking up because it's a speed jump... looks more like just a pose.

random rocks, no trail, bike's going left, he's going right, losing a pedal.. looks like he's learning to ride a bike.. i bet the rider isn't happy with that pic, although the photo quality is excellent
